About the Author

Samantha Price is a best selling author who knew she wanted to become a writer at the age of seven, while her grandmother read to her Peter Rabbit in the sun room. Though the adventures of Peter and his sisters Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail started Samantha on her creative journey, it is now her love of Amish culture that inspires her to write. Her writing is clean and wholesome, with more than a dash of sweetness. Though she has penned over one hundred and twenty Amish Romance and Amish Mystery books, Samantha is just as in love today with exploring the spiritual and emotional journeys of her characters as she was the day she first put pen to paper. Samantha lives in a quaint Victorian cottage with three rambunctious dogs.

A Wicked Treat
Sinful Holiday Series Book 1
by Crimson Syn
Genre: New Adult Romance
A WICKED HALLOWEEN ROMANCE

Anthony Reed has me primed and ready for so much more.
More of his mouth, more of his touch, more of his deliciously dirty words.
The man seduced me from the first moment I saw him,
And I can’t seem to stop myself from getting lost in him.
But my job is at stake, and so is my heart.
Yet I can’t help but fall for his devilish ways.

I have never yearned for a woman like I do Miss Ana Collins.
She’s beautiful, smart and unbelievably tempting.
She’s also my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher.
I should stay away from her, protect her, but I can’t do that.
My angel means everything to me.
Even if I have to fight my torrid past, I will have her.
She’s the only one who can mend my broken heart.

***This Halloween, an angel will fall in the hands of a very horny
devil.***
Mature audiences only: 18+
Explicit sexual scenes and language.

My name is Crimson Syn,
not really, but what fun is it to use my real name. Instead I’ll
use my inner goddess’ name, it’s much more fun that way. I
grew up in New York City where I had a wonderful education, loving
parents and awesome friends. What more could a girl ask for?
I started writing at the age of sixteen. The first romance I read was
Stephanie Laurens’ Devil’s Bride. Since then I have been
influenced by dozens of flourishing romance authors and even more
dashing and daring rogues. I must say it, but Fifty Shades was not my
first erotic romance, nor did it influence me to start writing them.
If you’ve never read Mary Balogh, Elizabeth Hoyt, Lisa Kleypas,
Bertrice Small or A.N. Roquelaure’s Sleeping Beauty trilogy, then
you’re missing out. Those were my sweet introductions to erotic
romance, and boy were they hot.
So here I am, after reading so many wonderful stories, I have too many
sinful tales of my own not to share. I like my alphas rough and
possessive, and I have no shame in saying it or writing it. I had
delightfully wicked teachers growing up, their books took me to new
worlds and brought me new loves. So, I want to do the same for you. I
want to indulge my readers in those steamy reads that will send them
into the arms of dangerous alphas and deliciously sexy rogues,
without leaving the confines of their nice warm bed. If I am able to
entice your inner goddesses, then I have done my job and I am
satisfied.

Sixty-five million years ago, aliens transplanted Earth’s dinosaurs to another
world. Now, intelligent saurians — the Quintaglios — have emerged.
Afsan, the Quintaglio counterpart of Galileo, must convince his
people of the truth about their place in the universe before
astronomical forces rip the dinosaurs’ new home apart.

The Face of God is what every young saurian learns to call the immense,
glowing object which fills the night sky on the far side of the
world. Young Afsan is privileged, called to the distant Capital City
to apprentice with Saleed the court astrologer. But when the time
comes for Afsan to make his coming-of-age pilgrimage, to gaze upon
the Face of God, his world is changed forever- for what he sees will
test his faith… and may save his world from disaster!

The Quintaglio Ascension Book 2

Toroca, a Quintaglio geologist, is under attack for his controversial new
theory of evolution. But the origins of his people turn out to be
more complex than even he imagined, for he soon discovers the
wreckage of an ancient starship — a relic of the aliens who
transplanted Earth’s dinosaurs to this solar system. Now Toroca must
convince Emperor Dybo that evolution is true; otherwise, the
territorial violence the Quintaglios inherited from their tyrannosaur
ancestors will destroy the last survivors of Earth’s prehistoric past.

In Far-Seer and Fossil Hunter, we met the Quintaglios, a race of
intelligent dinosaurs (evolved descendants of dinosaurs rescued in
prehistory from Earth), and learned of the threat to their very
existence. Now they must quickly advance from a culture equivalent to
our Renaissance to the point where they can leave their planet.

While the Quintaglios rush to develop space travel, the discovery of a
second species of intelligent dinosaurs rocks their most fundamental
beliefs. Meanwhile, blind Afsan — the Quintaglio Galileo —
undergoes the newfangled treatment of psychoanalysis, throwing
everything he thought he knew about his violent people into a
startling new light.

Tears.
Ronin was so tuned to the presence of a woman’s tears that he could swear he heard them fall. While hearing a tear hit the surf on the other side of the ocean was a stretch, there could be no mistaking the scent or the taste. Each woman’s tears were unique. These tasted of secrets and sorrow. Ronin held each on his tongue, decoding subtle clues and catching one after another.
Seven tears cast upon the water summon the selkie. Liquid key that broke the curse for one night. Sunset to dawn.
Ronin had twelve hours exactly on this night of Mabon, the autumnal equinox.
Obsidian black with foaming mane and tail, his liquid steed bucked and galloped across the Atlantic in the time it took a cloud to glide across the face of the rising moon. At the edge of Wolf Harbor, his ride dissolved into thrashing breakers along the jetty.
Seven tears summoned the beast across the ocean, carried the selkie to his intended on enchanted waters. Seven tears summoned man from beast.
The scent and taste of her—cool and crisp as new snow—washed through him, renewing his withered spirit. A vision of her tear-streaked face, framed in a wild mane of dark locks, was like a sun rising in his heart. Her need gave him power. Her hunger drove him up on the rocky barrier.
Metamorphosis clamped him in its jaws. Transforming Ronin form seal to man. He writhed and moaned like some great sea slug, belly down in a kelp pile. Bones shattered and reformed. Skin spilt at the seams until at last he crawled from the prison of his pelt. All indignities and agonies made bearable by the promise of holding her.
Growing taller with each breath, Ronin scrambled to his feet. Nothing equaled the sheer exhilaration and power of standing erect.
Ronin reached to the sky, and turning to face each of the four sacred directions, he named the elements. “Earth, wind, fire, water, I bow to your power. I am nothing on my own. Embrace the frailties and powers of this human form. Lend me your strength as I do the Goddess’s will.”
The wind carried a wolf song from shore. Tipping his head back, Ronin turned toward the moon, his voice rising to unite in song with his shape-shifting cousins. None but a being who walked the earth as both human and beast would recognize the subtle tonal differences and encrypted messages that signified the human souls beneath those canid hides. The pack leader’s solo answer welcomed Ronin ashore and promised no interference with his mission.
Satisfied, Ronin shook out his long hair and turned to face the wind. Heavy locks whipped back from his face and fanned out across his shoulders. A wave broke, colliding with the boulder he perched on. The resonant boom vibrated in his bones, cold spray making him shiver.
Maybe it was the remnants of the storm spinning up turbulence. Maybe it was the moodiness of autumn setting in, or maybe because it had been longer than usual since he’d last tumbled in clean sheets with a willing female, but tonight felt different.
Heat emanated from the water. Power dissipated by the goings-on at Shadowling, the magickal manor perched on the cliffs. The priestesses and their servants would be celebrating the Mabon, but the woman on the beach was not of them. Her tears didn’t carry the telltale electric zap of power. If she had power, it was dormant yet. Her summons had been born of innocent despair.
As such she was tonight’s innocent recipient of his eternal penance.
Shrugging off the mood, Ronin stashed his pelt under a cairn of loose rocks and dove back into the water. He had eleven hours and fifty minutes left. He wasn’t going to waste one second more than he had to. Still, he had to proceed cautiously.
She’d summoned him without knowing he existed, or the workings of his enchantment. Most women didn’t embrace strange men who walked naked from the surf.
Pity, that.

Maggie’s work is interesting, her kids have good daycare, and her actor husband Nick O’Connor is working nearby. But the happy summer plan is disrupted when Charlie’s popular colleague and rival, Tal Chandler, is found shot near campus.

When a turf war between town homicide detectives and image-conscious campus police hinders the investigation, Maggie and Nick team up with Tal’s grieving widow to get some questions answered.

“Murder Misread” by P.M. Carlson, the Maggie Ryan Mystery #7

Statistician Maggie Ryan, actor Nick O’Connor, and their two small children are looking forward to a relaxing summer away from New York City. Maggie’s working at her alma mater as consultant to reading expert Professor Charlie Fielding, and Nick has a gig at a summer theatre nearby. But then the body of Charlie’s retired predecessor, Professor Tal Chandler, is found near campus. It seems to be suicide–– but the gun was in left-handed Tal’s right hand. With help from Tal’s grieving widow, Professor Anne Chandler, Maggie and Nick find that friendly, nosy Tal had uncovered some dark secrets about his university coworkers––secrets that could lead to murder.

Read an excerpt:

Sunlight sifted through the trees. The creek giggled below. A little child galloped down the path, paused to pick up a pebble from the mud, ran back to her smiling mother. They moved on past, until their happy chatter merged into the rustling of the leaves.

A sweet day for a murder.

***

To get to Plato’s for Tal’s celebration, they had to cross the gorge. Maggie unhesitatingly chose the right path from among the several that meandered down into the wooded ravine. “I see you still know your way around,” Charlie observed.

“Yeah, it comes back. It was only seven years ago that I left. Which way do you prefer here?” Maggie paused at a fork in the trail, where one path led to a green-painted metal pedestrian bridge, and another wound lower and under the bridge along the edge of the little creek that had patiently carved out this gorge.

“The lower one’s prettier if you don’t mind steps. But it may be soggy still from the thunderstorm yesterday. I generally use this upper path.”

“Fine, let’s be prudent.” That warm Diane Keaton smile again as she turned toward the bridge. “I love this walk, don’t you?”

“Yes. I’m a hiker. You must miss the woods, living in New York.”

“Not as much as I expected. We’re only a block from Prospect Park, so we’ve got plenty of woods and meadows and ravines to explore.”

“Aren’t those big city parks dangerous?” He had to stretch to keep up with her athletic strides.

“Well, I don’t wander through them alone at night.” She hesitated, glancing at Charlie with an ambiguous smile. “Somebody did try to rape me once. But it wasn’t in Prospect Park. It was only a few miles from this very spot, when I was a student here.”

“God!” What could he say? What a horrible experience, to have someone forcing himself…. He mumbled inadequately, “That must have been terrible!”

“Yeah. Well, help arrived fast and we sent him up for ninety-nine years. Happy ending.” She didn’t sound happy, her shoulders hunching under the sky-blue cotton. “Anyway, I’ve learned to stay alert. Did you notice the guy under the bridge just now?”

Charlie looked back, frowning, and pushed his glasses up on his nose. The ravine was a visual crazy-quilt patched from dark earth, green leaves, splashes of sunlight. The original camouflage design, quivering as the breeze riffled the leaves. Below, the creek glinted; trunks and branches traced irregular dark lines through the trembling foliage. Nearer, the artificial pea-green of the bridge shafted straight-edged across the little chasm. “I don’t see anyone.”

“See where the trail widens? That muddy patch?”

“Yes. Oh!” He saw him then: standing nearly hidden by a clump of bushy young maples, only a bit of gray sleeve and a dark shoe visible from here. “Wonder what he’s up to?”

“In Prospect Park he’d probably be a bird-watcher,” Maggie said lightly, and turned back up the path toward College Avenue and Plato’s.

Randolph stepped back so that I could roll the cart inside. He was dressed in a dingy white undershirt and black slacks that dragged on the floor, his long, narrow bare feet poking out from underneath. I tried hard not to stare at the crusted-over toenails that screamed fungus at me.

“Welcome to my parlor, said the spider to the fly.”

Yikes. For some reason, the word icky popped into my head. “Please enjoy your breakfast, sir. You can place the cart in the hallway when you’re done, and one of our staff will pick it up later.”

I began to walk away, and he grabbed me by the wrist. “Not so fast.”

Startled by his action, I shook myself loose. “Don’t touch me again.”

“Sorry.” Randolph gave a small smirk that said he was anything but sorry. He looked me up and down. “I’d like you to wait a moment until I’m sure the meal is to my liking.”

I had news for this man—no meal was ever going to be to his liking. He lifted the covers off the plates one by one, examining the food while he grunted in apparent satisfaction. Finally, he picked up the white coffee carafe, poured himself a cup, and sniffed. Like the other day at the café, he took a small sip, grimaced, then shook his head at me. “Not quite, doll.”

“Sir?” I was confused. Poncho had used his precious Kona beans this time, so what could be the problem?

“It’s cold. Bring me another carafe right away.”

I couldn’t believe my ears. Anger bubbled at the surface and threatened to boil over any second. What I really wanted to do was throw the entire carafe in his face, but then I’d be out of a job and, knowing Randolph, looking at a lawsuit.

“Is there a problem, dear?”

The man clearly enjoyed the fact that he was goading me, but I was determined not to let him get under my skin. “No, sir. I’ll be back in a few minutes.”

“Text Chef Paunch ahead of time,” Randolph taunted, “so that the coffee will be ready when you get back. That’s a good little girl.”

I bit into my lower lip to temper my reply. “His name is Poncho.”

“Whatever. He’s got quite the paunch on him, so my name fits. And do hurry up. I haven’t got all day.” He sat down and started to eat, dismissing me with a wave of his hand.

Could the man be any more pretentious? I counted to ten and compressed my lips together, afraid a nasty comment might slip out between them. As I started toward the door, I spotted two half-filled mimosa glasses sitting on the table on the balcony. I wondered if good old Randy might have had a girl over last night—or perhaps his estranged wife had joined him.

“Are you deaf?” Randolph bellowed. “I want my coffee—now!”

With great effort, I opened the door to the suite and managed to refrain from slamming it behind me. On my way back down the hallway toward the elevator, I grabbed my phone out of my jeans pocket. My fingers flew as I texted Vivian.

Tell Poncho that the jerk said the coffee’s not hot enough. Have a new carafe ready to go when I get back. It’s a wonder no one has killed this guy yet.

Welcome in the festive season with love, laughter and the perfect G&T in Christmas at the Gin Shack – the most uplifting holiday read of 2017!

Gingle bells, gingle bells, gingle all the way…

Olive Turner might have lived through eighty-four Christmases, but she’ll never get bored of her favourite time of year. And this one’s set to be extra-special. It’s the Gin Shack’s first Christmas – and there’s a gin-themed weekend and a cocktail competition on the cards!

But, beneath the dazzle of fairy lights and the delicious scent of mince-pies, Olive smells a rat. From trespassers in her beloved beach hut to a very unfunny joke played on her friends, it seems that someone is missing a dose of good cheer.

Olive knows she’s getting on a bit – but is she really imagining that someone in the little seaside town is out to steal Christmas? More importantly, can she create the perfect gin cocktail before Christmas Eve – in time to save the day?

About the Author

When Catherine Miller became a mum to twins, she decided her hands weren’t full enough so wrote a novel with every spare moment she managed to find. By the time the twins were two, Catherine had a two-book deal with HQDigital UK. There is a possibility she has aged remarkably in that time. Her debut novel, Waiting For You, came out in March 2016. She is now the author of four books and hopes there will be many more now her twins have started school. Either that, or she’ll conduct more gin research on Olive’s behalf.
